Julia is a Queensland-trained Anaesthetist who has had a diverse and interesting clinical career since her graduation in 2009. Julia has clinical experience across a wide range of medical specialities, including Intensive Care Medicine, Palliative Care Medicine and General Practice. She commenced her specialty anaesthetic training in 2016, achieving her fellowship in Anaesthesia in 2023.
Julia enjoys anaesthetising across a wide range of surgical subspecialties. She has a particular interest in the fields of obstetrics, gynaecology and fertility medicine, orthopaedic surgery and procedural sedation for a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. She completed her fellowship across both the Royal Brisbane and Women’s and Redcliffe Hospitals, with a focus on the subspeciality areas of regional anaesthesia and point of care ultrasound (POCUS). Julia also has a keen interest in perioperative medicine, public health and health economics. She takes an active role in the training and education of anaesthetic specialists-in-training through her public appointment as Specialist Anaesthetist at Redcliffe Hospital.
Julia prides herself on delivering compassionate, evidence-based and patient-focussed care. A deep focus on patient-specific goals and preferences forms the heart of her anaesthetic practice. She works in close collaboration with her surgical colleagues to deliver the best possible surgical and anaesthetic outcomes for her patients.
When she isn’t at work, Julia enjoys spending time with her two beautiful children. She is a terrible gardener, a lousy self-taught pianist and an absolute rank-amateur cook. She does, however, hold expert level skills in Ikea furniture assembly.
Julia looks forward to having the privilege of taking care of you throughout your upcoming perioperative journey.
