I grew up in Tassie and completed my medical degree at the University of Tasmania in 2012. And have slowly been migrating to warmer climates ever since! I am now based in Brisbane, working as a Specialist Anaesthetist in both Public and Private Hospitals across Queensland.
I spent my pre-vocational years working in Tasmania, New South Wales and Victoria as a junior doctor across a range of medical specialties, during this time I completed further study and obtained my Post Graduate Diploma in Pain Management. I then completed my Anaesthetic training in Melbourne before moving to the Gold Coast for a General Fellowship in 2022. At the beginning of 2023 I obtained my Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. Since then, I have worked as a Staff Specialist at the Gold Coast University Hospital and have begun private practice in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Hervey Bay. In addition to this I have been fortunate enough to travel to Fiji a number of times to teach and learn from Anaesthetic doctors from all over the Pacific.
I thoroughly enjoy my work as a Specialist Anaesthetist. It encompasses with it a huge responsibility to deliver a high standard of care to patients throughout their peri-operative journey! It is a privilege to look after patients during a time in which they may feel incredibly nervous; whether this relates to their surgery, health or the hospital experience. I pride myself on my ability to provide patients with a safe, friendly, well-informed and calm environment before they have an Anaesthetic.
In my spare time I enjoy running, travelling and spending time in or near the ocean!
