Dr Diana Da Silva is a specialist anaesthetist that works at all private hospitals in Brisbane and as a Senior Medical Officer at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

Dr Diana Da Silva initially completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Science) with distinction at the Queensland University of Technology in 2004 after which she began work as a medical scientist at the Wesley Hospital. She subsequently went on to complete her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Griffith University in 2009. During these years, Dr Da Silva was awarded the Royal Australasian College of Pathologists Scholarship for Excellence in Research in Pathology and consecutive Awards for Academic Excellence.

Dr Da Silva completed her residency at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and began specialist training in anaesthesia in 2013. She has worked throughout Queensland in several metropolitan, regional and remote centres and was awarded a Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA).

During her training, Dr Da Silva was appointed to the position of the Academic Registrar, a joint position between the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and the University of Queensland, educating the next generation of doctors in the provision of safe and compassionate critical care. She takes pride in continuing to mentor and educate trainees and was a lecturer at the University of Queensland, School of Clinical Medicine.

Diana is devoted to delivering expert, comprehensive, professional, patient-centered anaesthetic care in a friendly, kind and compassionate manner across a wide range of surgical specialties in both the public and private sectors. She considers it is a privilege to care and support her patients and their loved ones, often during one of the most difficult and vulnerable times in their lives.

Outside medicine, Diana enjoys music, spending time with family and friends, travelling (in theory and spirit) and chasing after my 2 girls.
