Dr Kalmin Senaratne completed his medical degree at the University of Auckland in 2004 and following the completion of his intern year moved to Brisbane in 2005. He completed his anaesthesia training in Brisbane with hospital posts at Redcliffe, Nambour and Royal Brisbane Hospitals. At the Royal Brisbane Hospital, he undertook a fellowship in anaesthesia for Bariatric and Upper Gastrointestinal surgery. He has been a specialist anaesthetist in Brisbane since 2012.
He has a special interest in anaesthesia for weight loss and gastrointestinal surgery as well as regional anaesthesia. He is exposed to a diverse range of surgeries and acuity levels at Redcliffe hospital where he works as a staff specialist anaesthetist.
Outside of work Kalmin enjoys spending time with his 2 young sons as well as cycling, and playing squash. He has recently taken up the guitar much to his family’s annoyance.
